Jessica Elizabeth Mason graduated from Loughborough University in 2005, with a BA degree in Three dimensional design; Jewellery and Silversmithing.
Jewellery or Silversmithing?! It was a tough choice for Jessica, her passion lay with jewellery, but after winning an award in The Goldsmiths 'Young designer Silversmith of the year' compition in 2004 and then attaining a place at The Bishopsland Silversmithing Academy, Oxford, it was difficult to walk away from the doors which had opened, but thankfully for us she did!
Beginning her jewellery journey by working for a leading contemporary Jeweller and Goldsmith, Jessica began to get a taste of the British Jewellery designer-maker scene.
Moving onto set up her own practice in 2007, initially working from the bottom of the garden, as all good artists do! Jessica was supported in her first steps ino the industry by The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths 'Getting started course', and The Arts Council 'Professional Practice post graduate program'.
Developing her work and attending various retail and trade fairs to grow the circulation of her designs. Jessica was soon recognised as 'One to watch' by Craftsman magazine early in 2007, then later in the year things got really exciting when Jessica made the move in to a workspace at the prestigious Harley Foundation Studios.
After establishing a popular program of adult jewellery workshops and working as a visiting artist in schools and galleries Jessica is at present focusing on developing her role as teacher and tutor and invites you to follow her developments through her mailing list, please send a message on the contact page to be added.
